About the Author – Daniel Gislén
Daniel Gislén is a storyteller, screenwriter, and media educator with a rich background in film production, animation, and narrative design. While Starborn Alive marks his debut as a published author, Daniel has spent many years developing his craft, merging his love for science fiction with real-world issues to create worlds that feel both epic and emotionally grounded.
Daniel’s academic journey is as diverse as the stories he tells. With a combined Bachelor in Media and Education, alongside coursework in Literature, History of Political Thought, and Screenwriting, his education offers a well-rounded perspective on storytelling. This blend of disciplines infuses his work with a deep understanding of human behavior, history, and contemporary global challenges. Additionally, his training in 3D animation and interactive design enhances his ability to craft immersive narratives and complex worlds.
Throughout his career, Daniel has worked on various media projects, including commercials, commissioned films, and the look development for the animated feature Beyond Beyond (Copenhagen-Bombay). Since 2009, he has shared his passion for media production and storytelling with students, teaching film production and narrative techniques at several high schools.

Daniel’s love for fantasy and science fiction has been a constant thread throughout his life. From his early years, he has drawn inspiration not only from literary genres but also from contemporary global issues, blending the imaginative with the practical to create compelling, multi-dimensional stories. His debut novel, Starborn Alive, is the result of a lifelong dedication to storytelling, a project he began developing over two decades ago.
