Born in 2175 on the outskirts of Tehran Arcology, Nazari grew up during an era of strained optimism. Humanity had already spread to Mars, the Jovian moons, and the orbital habitats of Venus, yet the vast distances between these worlds kept them fragile — connected by light-hour delays, limited resources, and political tension.
Nazari’s life’s work was to solve not just a problem of distance, but of time itself. His research into spacetime curvature and quantum field compression led to the first functioning warp system, a propulsion framework that didn’t accelerate ships through space, but rather moved space around them.
By manipulating the geometry of spacetime — contracting it ahead of a vessel and expanding it behind — Nazari’s design made faster-than-light travel theoretically possible without violating relativity. The ship itself remained stationary within a “bubble” of distorted spacetime, riding a self-contained wave across the vacuum.
In 2212, his prototype drive was successfully tested aboard the UE-1 Alcubierre, achieving the first controlled superluminal jump within the Solar System. The achievement didn’t begin humanity’s expansion, but it transformed it — reducing months of transit to hours and turning isolated colonies into a connected civilization.
Nazari named the system after Miguel Alcubierre, the 20th-century physicist who first proposed the theoretical model in 1994. To Nazari, it was a tribute not just to a scientific ancestor, but to the idea that imagination can outpace limitation.
He died in 2244 under disputed circumstances, leaving behind a legacy equal parts triumph and controversy.
To this day, every starship that leaves Earth’s orbit still carries a fragment of his vision — a reminder that the line between physics and faith is thinner than we once believed.
What is a Warp Engine?
A warp engine, or warp system, bends spacetime to allow a vessel to traverse vast distances faster than light without breaking Einstein’s laws of relativity. Instead of moving through space, the ship remains in a “local rest frame” inside a warp bubble. The bubble itself travels by contracting spacetime ahead and expanding it behind — like a surfer riding a wave.
